What is a rhythm?
We see rhythms everywhere around us. Rhythm in nature, through day and night, through seasons and festivals. There are also our internal rhythms of our heartbeat, our breath and the metabolic rhythm.
In between these and more macro and micro rhythms come the rhythms of our day. It is the flow of our day from our first waking up in the morning to getting ready for the night sleep.
A well balanced and consistent rhythm goes a long way in nurturing infants and young children. Many of the daily struggles such as – disturbed sleep, cranky evenings, fussy eating, difficult transitions, big emotions, can be prevented by giving our children consistent daily, weekly and yearly rhythms.
Rhythm is different from routine. Let’s learn more about them in the upcoming session.
